Come join us for a fun low key marathon and half marathon in Beaverton on the day that comes around once every four years!

Date of Event: Monday, February 29, 2016 (Leap Day)

Time of the Event: Starts at 7:00 am. I'd like to have all finishers done by 2pm (7 hours). If you plan on taking longer than that let me know and we can work out special arrangements.

Location of Event: Murrayhill Park (just north of Scholls Ferry Road). Parking is available at the Murray Scholls Town Center. Access to the park is located to the left of the 24 Hour Fitness (11100 SW Murray Scholls Pl, Beaverton, OR 97007). Starting line will be located at the Tennis Courts along the paved trail.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no restrooms at the start/finish area.

Parking: You will want to park at the Murray Scholls shopping area near 24 Hour Fitness. To the left of 24 Hour Fitness you can access the path (turn left) that will take you to starting area (next to the tennis courts).

Distances: Marathon (26.2 miles) and Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

Cap: Since this is a low key event, the event will be capped at 100 runners. Please do not register if you aren't going to run it.

Entry Fee: This is a "fat ass" style event. I'm asking everyone to register for this race, even though it's a free event. This allows me to make sure I make enough finisher medals. When you register for the race, you can add a donation if you would like (donation will go to cover the costs of the event). You can register here: runsignup.com/Race/OR/Beaverton/LeapDayMarathon

Race Shirt: A short sleeve tech shirt can be purchased for $15. If interested please order when registering before February 10. There maybe extra shirts available at the event for purchase for $15 (cash/check only).

Course: The course will be a 13.1 mile out and back along the Westside Regional Trail for the marathon.

The course will be a 6.55 mile out and back along the Westside Regional Trail for the half marathon.

This will not be a closed course. You will need to yield to other runners and walkers.

The course has two good sized climbs at within the first and last four miles.

PLEASE NOTE: There are a number of major street crossings. Be prepared to stop and wait for the cross walk at these interactions.

Weather: It's February in the Pacific Northwest, what do you expect?! The average high is 53 degrees and an average low of 34 degrees. So be prepared.

Aid Station: As a fat ass event, you will be asked to carry your own aid. There will be a copuple of jugs of water placed on the route (but no cups) otherwise there will be no aid stations setup on the course. At the start/finish we will have water and Gatorade.

Awards: Each finisher will recieve a finishers medal.
